Petal

Dear all at Pennine Pen

Just a quick note to let you know how Petal is getting on...

Petal has settled down really well.  She enjoyed plenty of turkey at Christmas and has really made a good impression on everyone she's met.  She enjoys her food so much that she's in the process of eating us out of house and home!  Petal likes lots of fuss and cuddles as well as being left to have a sleep on her favourite chair.  We're really pleased that Petal has come to live with us & it's hard to imagine a time when she wasn't around!

Angelina

Dear Michael and Team,

Here are some pictures of Angelina.  She has settled in very well, she is a lovely little cat and from day one has used her litter tray, bed and scratching pole.

She has started to go out, but I think the weather puts her off - she stays out for about 20 minutes first thing in the morning then last thing at night.  Perhaps being chased by a dog hasn't helped!

She has put weight on and her coat is lovely and shiney.  I took her to the vet just before Christmas to see if he could help with her watery eyes, I explained she had had cat flue and he did say (as Michael did) that this can sometimes leave them with blocked tear ducts.  The vet gave her some eye drops which did helped but the minute the drops were done, her eyes started watering again.  The vet said that she is not in any discomfort and we should just bathe the to keep them clean.

We love her to bits and I think she loves us too!

All the very best for 2011.

Tigger

Hi everyone,

Just a note to let you all know how Tigger is getting on and some pics as promised.

Tigger has settled in really well.
He loves to go out and about exploring but he also likes company.
Quite often he will curl up in the bathroom sink and wait for us while we shower, he relaxes in the lounge with us of an evening and sleeps in the bedroom with us and Kelly our other cat at bed time.

He has a great appetite as he did in the rescue and has even put some weight on.
He is such a pleasure and we absolutely adore him.

Thank you and take care.

Rolo and His Sisters

Hello,

We've not updated you on rolo recently so we thought we'd send you some nice pictures of him and his sisters.

He's doing well, had a poorly paw earlier this year but it's all better. He's also unfortunately lost a front bottom tooth. It was wobbly so we were going to take him to the vets, but it fell out before we could. Lol. So he's got a tiny gap now. Still cute though.

He's getting a long a lot better with Naboo, and he's initiating the playing now sometimes which is great.

Hope you like the pictures.

Alex.

Roxie

Just wanted to send you an update on Roxie which we adopted in February this year.

We named her Roxie because she'd had a rocky start to her life and had already had a litter of kittens by the time she was 12months old.  However, we think she rocks!
We couldn't have chosen a more pleasant, affectionate, loving and sociable cat.  She is such a character and full of life too.  She has brought no end of joy and laughter to our family.
She spends her day out & about protecting her territory.  She may be the smallest and the youngest, put she is certainly Top Cat around here.  No other cat dares to come near our gardens any more!  On the odd occasion that one "passes through" they have a look of abject fear on their faces, in case she is lurking in the bushes, ready to pounce.
She is very playful too and loves it when I throw balls for her chase around the garden. She also "helps" with the gardening too!  This usually consists of hiding in the plants and pouncing out at every opportunity.  Her "mad" 5 minutes (which she has quite a few time a day) usually consist of running in & out of the house, up and down the nearest tree and then bouncing around the garden, eyes wide and tail arched.  She is a little treasure and a joy to behold.
We are sooo pleased to have Roxie as an addition to our family, we all love her very much and am sure she will be a constant source of affection and enjoyment for many years to come.
Thanks to all of you at Pennine Pen for looking after this little girl so well when you rescued her.  I will whole-heartedly recommend you to anyone looking to rescue an animal as I know you have limited resources and depend on charity & adoption fees so that you can continue your good work.  I have some photos of her out & about in the garden & will send them on to you when I can find the camera!
Once again, a big Thank You to you all. xxx

Smokey Bruce

Smokey Bruce from Denshaw sent us this letter.

On 2nd July it will be 12 months since you found me this new home and I thought I would let you know how happy I am here.  I have really got Glynis & Colin where I want them - pandering to my every need and I have turned into a "diva".

There are lots of things to catch here and my record so far is 9 mice, voles and shrews in one day!  I don't catch many birds as I get shouted at when I have a bird.  I really enjoyed the snow in winter but I had to be rescued from snow drifts a couple of times!

I hope you are all well at Pennine Pens and that all my friends that were there at the same time as me have now found new homes.  I am sending you a photograph of me in the garden - just before I fell off the wall!

Kind regards,

Smokey Bruce

Simba and Nala

Just to let you know they have both settled in really well. First 24hrs was spent behind the settee and under the bed but the following morning Simba was ready to explore. He is very loving and likes lots of cuddles. Nala has been a little more wary and took a few days to come round but her natural inquisitiveness took over her shyness and she is now liking lots of head and belly rubs. They are getting along with Monty really well and when playtime starts its like a madhouse with cats running all over. Gizmo has not really joined in yet, he was the same with Monty at first. They have had their first taste of the outside world this weekend which as been hectic trying to keep an eye on two cats at the same time but all went well.

Regards,
