Pennine Pens "Action For Ferals Scheme"

Dedicated to the late Mrs Patricia Wood

Many of you will have known the late Mrs Patricia Wood who actively trapped and neutered many feral cats along with the help of John Smith. The organisation was known as Action for Ferals and was based in Troughgate Hollins Oldham. It must have amazed the people Pat met needing help to see her so immaculately presented whilst getting down to the work of trapping in Oldham, and the surrounding areas. Action for Ferals was supported by a charity shop with dedicated volunteers who ran the shop to raise monies for the works. Sadly Pat became ill and during her illness we helped and assisted her in whatever way we could to help her carry on this vital work. Tragically Pat died in January 2010 after many years of neutering and caring for feral cats but her legacy lives on with our “Action for Ferals scheme”. Since Pennine Pen was established we have always trapped and neutered ferals and with the help of John Smith who had worked alongside Pat we now hope to neuter many more cats. Pat was an amazing lady who devoted her life to help feral cats, she did a remarkable job and is dearly missed by us all.

Ferals back at home

Hi Michael
Just wanted to give you an update on Claude. He hasn't suffered any ill effects and is still as cheeky but also still timid. He is gradually getting a bit braver and letting me get a bit closer.
Thanks again for your help. I will keep in touch.
Julie
PS- Hope you like the photos.

Arthur

Arthur is a lovely mature gentleman who lives up to his name - he loves to put his paw into food bowls and eat from it. He doesn't look much like the Arthur cat though, he is ginger and white with some scars from a tough life which I think just makes him look even more endearing. Due to on going health problems Arthur will spend the remainder of his days at the shelter where he is happy and settled, getting lots of cuddles and attention from the volunteers.
